Has there ever been a time in your life when you felt a little lost? You’ve read about the benefits of time management, but you don’t know what you’re going to do next.

You felt bad about the outcomes of your decisions. And how they affected those that you care about.

Yes, it does stink at where you find yourself. But what I can tell you is, like you I’ve been there too.

Stressed, concerned, and wondering when we that first big break happen. It makes it hard to get out of bed.

But what I’ve found is that you have to hit the “Reset” button. To crack the code.

To crack the code, you have to accept the reality where you are at in your life journey. If you’ve ever been laid-off, let-go, parted ways, or just clinging on. You must accept that your current outcomes are based upon the past decisions that you’ve made. Then it’s time to reset.

The good news is that your life is not over. The challenge that you’re in now is only a short chapter over an 80 year period.

Recently, I was able to attend a great workshop at the Courtyard Marriott in Scottsdale by my friend, Jodi Low, founder of U&Improved. She presented her “Having It All” workshop to over 30 people. Her smaller workshops cost over $199. But I was able to have one of my RampUp Newsletter members come with me as a guest.

It wasn’t about getting-rich-quick. Or standing on your head and chanting mantras.

It was about mindset. Determining where you’re at and what 10 key things you must do now.

Below is my edited Evernote version of the workshop:

Jodi Low stated that 60% of our actions are habit patterns we don’t think about. We only control less than 40% our daily choices.

Two of my favorite quotes from the Jodi Low were…

Mediocrity comes at us and we don’t even now it.

Your life roadmap needs habitual practice and updating. This will define your standards.

If you need to create a game plan to make $60K in one week, what would you do?

Get out your phone and look for the pictures of two people who you care about. You’ve eaten meals with these two people before. Laughed with them. Even cried with them.

Now you’ve one week to put together a game plan to make $60K. And if you don’t someone you care about is going to die from a disease.

Are you going to get focused now?

Most humans seek a state of homeostasis. However, this urgency for others makes this a mind shift.

Life is too short to do what you hate. Create a plan and work it.

ClOSING THE GAP

Where are you at today on a scale of 1 – 10? Seven being “I’m good.” Three being “This stinks.”

  • Relationship
  • Children/Family
  • Business/Career
  • Finances
  • Health/Fitness
  • Recreation
  • Spirituality
  • Personal time

10 Ways to Turn the Benefits of Time Management Into Action with Jodi Low

1) Come from abundance. Not scarcity.

2) Focus on people. Not money.

If you truly want something, you’ll find a way.

3) Stop feeling guilty.

4) Get organized.

Don’t spend useless time trying to find or redo things. Touch it once and do it right the first time.

5) You can’t steer the river.

Look at yourself in the mirror. What are the five positive things you can see in yourself?

6) Don’t be a goldfish. Be a shark.

We are often like goldfish.

If you take a goldfish and drop it into the ocean. It will still only go into a circle, like what it did in the fishbowl.

While the shark will keep moving to different parts of the ocean.

7) No limits.

What the one thing that is holding you back from doubling business/relationship?

Here’s a gut-check.

That limiting belief… is you BS story

It’s actually about your choices and decisions. How bad do you want it? We can’t want the easy path anymore.

8) Find a mentor. And model the best

Jodi Low’s grandfather was her best mentor until he passed away in her 20s. He was always sharing quotes like:

  • Live a life filled with compassion.
  • Live a life of significance.

Go after it Boldly.

  • Keep learning and growing.
  • Read the dictionary.

9) Become a master.

You have to practice and take action. Constant and Never-ending Improvement (CAN I)

PDR (Practice Drill Repeat). I change the exact term that Jodi Low used.

To achieve mastery:

  • Play full out! You can’t dabble in it. Be all in.
  • Full immersion.
  • Spaced Repetition.

10) Commit to your own personal growth and to the personal growth of those around you.

YOUR NEXT STEPS

Jodi Low was awesome in explaining her personal journey.

Now it’s your time. Reset your mind. Even if you’re over 50, like my folks when they founded a St. Louis BBQ restaurant. You can have it all. But like Timothy Sykes said in a recent interview with Lewis Howes…
